Career Fair Essay I like Firefighting because I think it is fun, but it is also a dangerous job. Firefighters have to be careful and know what they are doing. as they could be hurt in a fire. I think it would be fun to be a Firefighter. I would be able to spray water on a fire and be part of a team. Firefighters save lives. firefighters have to run into houses that are on fire. Firefighters have to wear a fireproof suit and oxygen masks so they don't get smoke in their lungs.

To become a firefighter, there is a lot of school and training. You must attend college for approximately two to seven years, and the books are very thick. You usually need a high school diploma and a college program and a college program in Fire Protection Technology or related program.
You must pass physical agility, strength, fitness, and vision requirements. Previous experience as a volunteer Firefighter may also be an advantage. Training courses in Firefighting and emergency medical care are provided

Since most fire departments run upwards of 70% or more emergency medical related responses, it only makes sense for them to require this as a prerequisite; additionally, it is much less training they have to provide firefighters during the recruit academy. Many departments are looking for licensed paramedics; however, before you can usually apply to paramedic school, you must first successfully pass EMT training. Work experience as an EMT on a 9-1-1 ambulance is also extremely beneficial, and often required for many paramedic programs. If you have decided on this career path, get yourself enrolled in an EMT class and consider Paramedic school only if you have a genuine interest in EMS and want to work as a Paramedic. Do not do it to simply increase your opportunities in the fire service. Firefighters make a decent salary, as shown
