Dreams to be a “Dogtor”
1. Ever since I was little I have loved animals and admired the people who care for them. Becoming a Veterinarian would be my dream come true. A Veterinarian is one of the most needed job occupations in the country. Veterinarians work with all animals small, large, tall, and short, depending on the type of clinic, However almost half of the vets in America work with companion animals rather than large animals. To be a vet you not only have to love animals, but love people as well. Loving both people and furry friends gives motivation to help them and their companion.
2/11. Being a veterinarian comes with a lot of responsibilities. Such as Examining Animals to diagnose their health problems, performing surgery on animals, Treating and dressing wounds, Testing and vaccinating for diseases, Operating medical equipment, such as an x-ray, discussing general care, medical conditions, and treatments with animal owners, prescribing medication, euthanizing animals, etc. (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Many people don’t realize the many things veterinarians conquer daily. Veterinarians also risk their health everyday. 8. Working as a veterinarian, work life would not be as easy as some jobs are. A veterinarian's work schedule usually consists of working additional hours such as weekends, and night shifts, and occasionally responding to emergencies outside of work ( Bureau of Labor Statistics). 12. My family life occasionally might be affected by complicated and inconvenient work hours. 3. Some Different companies and organizations that might hire a person with these qualifications include, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary microbiology and immunology, Veterinary Ophthalmology Residency, and some others (U.S. News & World Report). 6.
