As a person who comes from a country with less developed sport industry, I can say that I had no idea about the different opportunities and various career paths I can pursue. With each chapter we covered during the semester, I have discovered another career path that I can follow with desire therefore I first want to talk about the other sport related career opportunities I had an interest before deciding my ultimate goal. Being a sports agent is almost everyone’s dream who has any interest in sports, but after we covered the chapter related to the subject, I realized that law degree is a hidden requisite to be a successful agent. Another con I would mention about being a sport agent is that the high supply of the sport agents. According to the ESPN, there are 714 agents certified by the NFL Players Association and 300 of them, in other words 42 percent has no clients. Each year 140 new agents added up to this crowd with a hope to find a client among 1800 NFL players, however half of these players are represented by 13% of the agents. Even these statistics show us how competitive the environment is and being best at it is almost impossible because of all these reasons I have no interest in being an agent anymore. I also have to take into consideration the differences between the sport management industry in the United States and Turkey since some of the career opportunities I would prefer to pursue do not exist back home. Athletic director position is a great example of that definition. College level sports in Turkey are not as popular as US. Games are not
