I am writing to you because of my interest of becoming a Scouting Assistant. Previously, I have been in contact with ____ over my time with different teams. Ever since I graduated from high school, I have been working towards this career goal. I fully understand that as a Scouting Assistant, that there will be less than glamorous tasks that need to be completed. Throughout my career, I have years of experience doing the grunt work such as washing laundry to picking up free agents from the airport. In a Scouting Assistant role, you have to put in mass amounts of data accurately into a database, cut up film, and execute your job under pressure. I have experience entering field data into breakdowns, putting in player’s information into numerous types of databases and have learned how to cut up player’s game film into XOs. As a sophomore, I had to learn all of our offensive signals in three weeks and had to step in as the live signaler in the middle of our Notre Dame game.
