She can benefit from using a targeted resume or combination resume. Both of these types of resumes are tailored to a specific job; for Shelby, it is pet services. Although she is seeking entrepreneurship, she can use the Resume Worksheet to evaluate her current skills, abilities, and education to determine areas that she may need to improve upon. Interviews can be very intimidating because you are sitting in a room, waiting to be judged by someone who does not know you besides what is typed on your resume. As a future entrepreneur, Shelby should engage in interviewer/interviewee role-playing with her mentor. A mentor is someone who is skilled in a profession and who acts as an adviser or consultant in the workforce (Kapoor, et. al., 2014). Through role-playing activities, Shelby will be able to gauge her personal interests. Sometimes, it is easy for our goals and desires to become muddled in everyday life; by engaging in conversations that invoke critical thinking, we are able to accurately discern our needs, wants, and desires.
