I believe that The Tragedy Paper should be part of Four County Career Center’s junior English curriculum. I believe that this book should be part of the curriculum because it has material in it that both genders would enjoy. It has violence and drinking for the gentleman, and it has romance for the ladies. In the book Vanessa and Tim kiss on 2 different occasions, Duncan and Daisy also kiss on multiple occasions. In the book, Tim tries to have a fight with Patrick when he hears him say “I’m done with blondes for a while. Maybe a brunette would do me some good.” (Laban 287) Vanessa gets put into a coma from hitting her head on a tree, it said there was a lot of blood. Not everyone thinks they will have a tragedy in their life. I was one of them until all this stuff happened. Tragedies don’t care if you are poor, or rich, or even middle class. Take it from someone who went through 2 years of tragedy. You don’t think my life was that tragic. Let me tell you what happened. Firsts things first, I had to quit track for one year because I tore my Meniscus. Second, which is also the biggest one, my brother and his fiance died in a house fire on January 3rd, 2013. A study that “1 in every 310 houses have fires per year.” (www.nfpa.org) What are the chances that it happened to my family? Third my grandpa and great aunt died of lung cancer. Fourth and final, my uncle killed himself. In the book, Tim goes blind because he over medicated himself, which caused Vanessa to get put into a coma because Tim went blind halfway down the hill. Vanessa didn’t get to finish her senior year at the school either. One of the girls in this year's senior class didn’t come back to school because she overdosed on a pill called Xanax. Every year there is always one kid who doesn’t get to stay at school. They always wind up leaving. There was a curse put into the school. The curse was put on the school by a girl broke her legs or ankles on the trails, and had to crawl
