Career in Dental Hygiene I used to hate those fluoride trays filled with that flavored foam that my dental hygienist used every time I went. She would ask what flavor I would like, and I knew it was coming. It is quite ironic that I plan to do that to kids like me one day. I am enthusiastic to be able to do that to other children, because I now realize that my dental hygienist was only helping me. Germanna Community College is the school I am choosing to chase my goal and achieve my Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene, because I am hardworking, determined, hopeful, and ready for the challenges to come. Typically, Dental Hygienists work twelve hours shifts three times a week. Most of the
time Dental Hygienists work independently, but the dentist does come in and finalize
your work. Working a minimum of three days per week, working independently and
responsibly, I will be able to successfully maintain my career in Dental Hygiene. It takes very minimal schooling to become a dental hygienist. It only takes two years to earn an associate’s degree, and you will come out to thousands of jobs looking for Dental Hygienists. For example, Dental Hygiene isn’t always everyone’s dream job, but it is a very realistic one. I could go to school for two years and come out making at least 60k a year, or I could go to school for years upon years, and not be able to find a job. Finding a realistic career option is essential to me, and dental hygiene offers
