Personal development is an encouraging action that continues to keep me focused on the long term goal, as well as directing my attention to everyday tasks. Pursuing a career that motivates and encourages me to expand my knowledge, and face challenges with confidence has directed me towards project management. Prayer has motivated me to find the knowledge, skills, techniques, and tools needed to pursue this career through an education provided by Colorado Christian University. The information obtained through these years of experience was great; however I wanted a permanent position at a single manufacturing facility. I was able to achieve that goal through a maintenance position at a local production facility. As I continued my service to this company, an internal job position opened up for a process project supervisor. This is a position that works directly with a project manager; helping to accomplish the facility’s process requirements. Initially I was not interested in the position, until I prayed for direction and guidance, after which every aspect of the application process fell into place. I know God spoke to me when the original job posting required a college education, and was later dropped to a high school diploma. I was awarded the job promotion and am currently overseeing project installations by contractors. My latest job promotion was based primarily on merit and work history. The preference of work discipline and productivity also helped place me in the position that I currently hold. Now that I am blessed with the position that I am in, I look to the future and ask myself what the next step …show more content…
The primary motivation for continuing my education is for career advancement and acquiring the qualifications necessary to apply for future promotions. My academic goals align with an education in project management, providing knowledge that matches my work history and experience, and building a well rounded profile. In this capacity I will be able to influence many people’s lives through Godly principles applied to project management and development. Building on the academic side of my background in project management will strengthen all facets of my abilities, giving me the necessary tools to lead and direct workers on projects to a successful completion, and finding solutions to problems through enhanced analytical skills. In addition to leading projects to a successful conclusion, I look forward to maintaining a positive impact on the workforce. My work history, experience, and faith in God’s direction have put me on a solid career path towards project management.
