Care-Corps
Currently, over half a million people are homeless in the U.S. right now. What most of us don't understand, is the grind that homeless people go through everyday for their daily needs. Lots of us take a bed, a soft blanket, a warm house for granted. This is something homeless people don't have, but a great program in Fremont, Nebraska has provided these services for them. Care-Corps provides: housing, life skills program, food, hygiene products, medicine, prevention program, counseling, and provides a plan for a client to get healthy, happy lifestyle.
Many people drive by everyday and don't realize that Care-Corps is there. The place looks like a mini 1 story apartment complex. The siding on the building is tan, which gives it that

We met a man named Josh who was 27 years old. Josh went to high school at Logan View, which is in the same conference as D.C. West. He went to the military to serve his country. Josh started as a scout and worked his way up to a sniper, where he trained in Arizona. He was deployed overseas and did not talk about what happened over there much. What Josh did say was that he got into a lot of bar fights and had trouble keeping his act together. Josh said, "my training caused me to break a man's arm in four places when I fought him after a dirt track race." Josh has clearly had trouble returning to everyday life after the military. Care-Corps has helped him though. Josh talks to a counselor every week and has a job at Syngenta in Waterloo, Nebraska. According to Common Dreams 57,000 veterans are homeless each night. 1 in 5 homeless people suffer from untreated mental illness.
Care-Corps is truly a great organization. 77% of their clients are from Fremont, Nebraska, but they will accept anybody from the surrounding states. Care-Corps needs our help and others though. They have plenty of food but they need products such as toilet paper, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste. Care-Corps may someday have to expand if they plan on helping more people stay in their shelters. Any donation is helpful. If you decide to donate please do so by going to www.care-corps.org. You will not regret this

The homelessness number is at a staggering number 578,424 people (as of January 2014). As of January 2015 the number has come down to 564,708 people. Only a decrease of 13,716 in over a year is not enough. Some say that such high numbers are caused by drug abuse or misguided entitlement programs. Some believe it’s the cause by lack of funds in social-service programs or failure to create a economic opportunity.…

Even though he liked to play with toy soldiers as a child, his dream was to become a highway patrol motorcycle officer when he grows up. He did not think about joining the military until he was in college. This is because the United States was fighting a tough war in Vietnam which took the lives of many Americans and this awakened his patriotism to serve the nation which made him enlist in the army. During these economic times, physical and mental health care has been decreasing. At the State level, California has faced significant funding shortfalls; forcing deep budget cuts in these critical support services (Sacramento Steps Forward). I went down to Sacramento, Loaves & Fishes homeless shelter and asked a few homeless people if they live near healthcare buildings to make it easier if they have health problems. Most of them said that they live near resources that are helpful to them. For example, one said that they like to hang around or live near the Del Taco in down Sacramento, because that is where other homeless people are at and some of them are his friends.…

For example, feminization of poverty’s definition is the higher likelihood that female heads of households will be poor. Most women in the United States have grown in their ability to work and raise a family on their own, but the discrimination of women is still intact in society where they are paid lower wages.…
