Cardiovascular Exercise Testing

When it comes to athletes of all sports, cardiovascular exercise testing is important. It can help figure out where they're at when it comes to the endurance levels. Maximal oxygen VO2 max is the most valid measurement of cardiovascular fitness. Maximal oxygen VO2 max is the oxygen uptake in the body that is measured while during an extreme exercise (Powers & Howley). This can be a huge help to figuring out what the athletes fitness levels are, and also keep up with their progress after each session. Ventilatory threshold is basically when the exercise becomes intensive and causes the blood lactate levels to increase.
