The head-tilt chin-lift maneuver is performed by placing your hand on the unconscious person’s forehead and tilt the head back, and with the same hand you will pinch the person’s nose closed. Then you place the other hand on the chin and gently tilt the chin to open the mouth. This maneuver will open the airway and allow you to give two rescue breaths.
