As a new driver in Louisiana I've noticed two major things. Number one that car crashes occur often and number two that insurance is extremely and unnecessarily high. The number of car accidents in Louisiana 2015 was a jarring number of 168,407 and 757 of those car accidents being fatal according to LSU's research data. (Dr. Schneider 2015). This seems like a result of major budget cuts to the traffic division of New Orleans police department where there were only 32 officers employed in this division at the time. (city of New Orleans police department.) Because there are only 32 officers employed that means the number of traffic tickets and being able to spot reckless driving has gone down. I feel to combat these high numbers of accidents,
