The story of Romeo and Juliet starts in Verona, Italy. In this city the people of the house of the Montagues and the house of the Capulets have been rivals for generations. Romeo, a gentleman of the house of Montagues, and Juliet, a maiden of the Capulets, are madly in love. Juliet’s father, Capulet, is a respectable man in the city of Verona but is a terrible father. Capulet’s actions as a father such as forcing Juliet to marry County Paris, the Prince’s cousin, have lead Juliet to desperation and eventually suicide. This demonstrates that Capulet is the most responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he was not there for Juliet, he let his feud with the Montagues distract him from what was really important, and he made decisions not caring about how it would make his daughter feel but by caring about the benefits that would serve him.

In 1.3.30 the nurse says “my Lord and you were then at Mantua.” This shows that Capulet was absent for Juliet's childhood. This also points out that the nurse and her husband served as Juliet’s parents instead of the Capulet themselves because Capulet chose to isolate himself from Juliet. Capulet was a bad father because he never really was there for Juliet because he isolated himself from her even at childhood.

old Montague is come and flourishes his blade in spite of me,” which shows that Capulet’s hatred for the Montagues is still very strong. The feud between the Capulets and the Montagues distracted Capulet from Juliet. Because Capulet had such great hatred for the Montagues, Juliet wasn't comfortable with telling Capulet about her relationship with Romeo like she had told the nurse. What mentally isolate himself from Juliet by being too busy hating the Montagues instead of spending time to get to know Juliet. She isn't comfortable with telling Capulet anything because he thinks that he'll disown her or be punished in some

A father, Capulet, who seems to want the best for his daughter may not be exactly who we have learned to think he is. The deaths of Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, Romeo, Juliet, and Lady Capulet written in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare were the effect of Capulet’s bad decisions. Long lasting feuds, one sided decisions, and unfatherly threats were all important factors in the way that Capulet indirectly ended many precious lives. First, if Capulet would have ended the feud with the montagues, Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have had to keep their marriage a secret.…

Capulet raised Juliet in a way to make her feel unworthy and that her only importance is to move her family higher on the social hierarchy. His actions made Juliet resort to finding an escape from her arranged marriage and poor home life. The movie and play imply that Capulet’s actions and words toward Juliet are unfatherly and cruel. For example, when he finds his daughter sobbing, presumably about Tybalt’s death, he makes an attempt to hit her, but is blocked by the nurse. His lack of affection…

Yes, Lord Capulet threatens to disown Juliet, but Juliet is very unappreciative of what he has done for her and she has no idea of what he has been through on her behalf. This family separation and tragedy did not start because Lord Capulet is a bad and uncomprehending father but rather because he has been working without her knowledge and acts just like any other parent in the world. Wouldn’t you act more protective, if one of your family members was killed by your enemy? At the end Lord Capulet states “As rich shall Romeo’s by his lady’s lie- Poor sacrifices of our enmity” (303-304) this suggests that Capulet promises Romeo what Montague will do for Juliet.…

If Lord Capulet did not place this momentous burden on Juliet, then she may have not tried to fake her death that ultimately ended in her as well as Romeo’s demise. Even though Lord Capulet could be responsible for the death of the lovers, Friar Laurence is predominantly the one to blame due to his lack of judgment throughout the play. Despite Friar Laurence’s good intentions when agreeing to marry Romeo and Juliet, thinking that it would end the feud, he neglected to foresee the potential negative outcomes. Upon his agreement to marry Romeo and Juliet, he hastily advises, “Come, come with me, and we will make short work; For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone Till holy church incorporate two in one”(II.vi.35-37). Friar Laurence already knew that tensions were high between the Montagues and Capulets, and by doing this he endangered the well-being of both Romeo and Juliet if anyone ever found out.…
