Captone Project Case Study

Decent Essays
Today the FireANT team raised my concern of safety and liability for capstone projects. Apparently they went to the shooting range to test their design. I assume that we didn’t provide gun safety training to these students. So if there are accidents, our department and ourselves would be at legal risk. So I would suggest that all students taking capstone classes sign an "accident waiver and release of liability form". So they should take responsibility to activities outside the campus, even it is related to the capstone project. Maybe we can consult NMSU legal council for the format of the form. Would you please let me know how do you think. Please forgive me since I am always worrying too much.

As you are aware, health care costs have been increasing substantially over the years, and we strive to offer affordable health care. With BCBS coming back during our renewal with a 53% increase to premiums so we had no other choice then to go with Cigna who offered the lowest increase at 20%. On average EBCO contributes over 56% to all employee’s premiums. Unfortunately, this we had no other option but to share some of this increase with employees to allow EBCO to continue offering health insurance benefits, and we are looking into ways to help lower our renewal rates going forward. One thing EBCO has put into place this year is our wellness program, since programs likes these helps lower cost by finding medical issues in the early stages.…

These animals have restricted or almost no access to the outside world. As well as a cramped indoor living area, they are kept on a relatively small plot of land causing a concentration of waste from the animals. CAFOs have been the subject for debate in my area because most homeowners do not want them in their area.…

The word “in loco parentis” is Latin and translates as “in the place of a parent”. The formal definition of the word is “the legal doctrine under which an individual assumes parental rights, duties, and obligations without going through the formalities of legal adoption” (reference?). The two main objectives of this are firstly, it allows institutions such as colleges, schools and kindergartens to act in the best interests of the students and children as they see fit. However they are not to allow what would be considered violations of the students' civil liberties. Secondly, this doctrine can provide a non-biological parent the legal rights and responsibilities of a biological parent if they are taking care of or supervising the child.…
