Captain Sobel I believe is one of the worse officers that is present throughout the entire series. Throughout the entire series he continual belittles his troops to separate him from the rest of his men. This is what contributes to his leadership style of directional. He continual tells his men what to do how to do and when to do it. For one example during the ruck march he instructs his men to not drink from their canteens and to save the water, . Under high stress operations such as combat or jumping from planes this style of punishment is sometimes required to get the men to act but since they are still in training and under controlled instruction Sobel should have focused on developing his troops instead of tearing them down.
