Nicolle Bernard has a natural stutter. She was giving a weather report to a three-star general and unfortunately stuttered a lot. Nicolle felt she had lost lots of credibility from this moment, making it her worst experience in the Air Force.
Many parts of serving in the Air Force can be amazing, but some are truly dreadful. According to Nicolle Bernard, the overall worst part is not seeing your family and that only gets worse over time. Captain Bernard explains that her, “Air Force family” helps her get through difficult times. She knows they are always there for her when she cannot see her family. The adventure aspect of the Air Force makes up for these difficulties. Constantly traveling provides new adventure and things to constantly visit and see.
Nicolle Bernard is planning on leaving the Air Force within the next few years. Since her husband is also in the military it is difficult to maintain a stable family and she would like to start working on that. Once she leaves, Nicolle would like to continue her work in science. She would like to become a science teacher or work in the geology
