As we all know, Captain America is a character in the Marvel comics and is very popular in the United States (not surprisingly). He was created in the comics by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and first appeared in “Captain America Comics #1” in 1941 during the war to boost the morale of Americans everywhere. Captain America appears as a super soldier that was created to fight the Axis during World War 2. The comics soon lost popularity after the war in 1950 and did not appear largely until 1964 and has been running in the movies and in comics since.
As a child, he was known as Steve Rogers and was a weak and not very capable young man, yet he still wanted to join the army. At the time, he was a fine arts student and had recently just graduated from high school. After his mother died from pneumonia, Steve was left without anyone take care of him. He attempted to join the army and was motivated by the atrocities that the Nazis were carrying out, but failed to pass the physical requirements of the army. After his attempts to join the military, he was recruited to join a special government project called “Operation Rebirth”, which was a project designed to create a serum called the “Super Soldier Serum”.
