By analyzing the movement of the perceptual map, we realized that our current high end products would fall into the ideal position of the traditional segment and the current high end product would fall close to the ideal position of Traditional segment in the near round. This strategy corresponds to the Product Lifecycle Focus strategy – products begin their lives in High End, mature into Traditional and fall into Low End segment. Implementing product lifecycle strategy not only strengthened Chester’s ability of dominating the Low End and Traditional market, but also gave us the advantage to improve our overall performance in the balance scored card by taking over more market shares from our competitors.

During the first meeting, Stefani and Ning stated they had difficulties to understand the system because they were not good at numbers, and they wished to take the responsibility of other work, such as the group case presentation. To relieve their pressure, Yonggang and I comforted them that Capsim is nothing more than a game; as a team, we will take all challenges together for good and for bad. Trustiness and common ground were built. We all agreed to set our minimum goal of getting the third place in this competition, work our best, and be the risk takers. No one mentioned about winning, but I believe showing your own efforts and contributing to the team can motivate our members. I made an abbreviated version of the Capstone Manual with a few keys highlighted and shared with my team
