Introduction
The Capitol Hill mass murder took place on Saturday 25 March 2006 in the city of Seattle. The killings were perpetrated by a 28-year-old called Kyle Aaron Huff who shot six victims that included two females and four males. The age of the victims varied between 14 and 30 years (Fox, Burgess, Levin, Wong, and Burgess, 2007). Huff then wounded two others before killing himself. The residents of Seattle were angered, aggrieved, outraged, and shocked at the multiple mass murders that took place because of the nature of the victims, which indicated that apparently there were no motives behind the killings. The theory does not necessarily focus on the mental illness of a person because it is believed that mental processes are not easy to observe and cannot be objectively measured. The process and influences of television, video games, and movies containing violence can help shape the behavior of a person. On this note, it is clear that Kyle Huff was a person who loved music that had lyrics associated with violence. In addition, he loved playing video games and watching videos containing violent scenes. The life of frustration he experienced during his younger years may have also played a big role in shaping up his behavior that led him to commit the mass murder. His parents divorced when they were entering their teens, and this perhaps cultivated a feeling of anger, frustration, and violence throughout his life that shaped his behavior.
