According to a study conducted by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, at least 4.1% of death row inmates are innocent (Pilkington). In the United States, there has been 156 people on death row who were determined to be innocent since 1973. There are possibly thousands of more innocent individuals who were wrongly put to death, such as Carlos Deluna, David Spence, Leo Jones, Troy Davis, Richard Masterson, and many more (Death Penalty Information Center). The government and judges rarely, if ever re-address cases of wrongly accused criminals, because they tend to focus on current cases. It is important for everyone to address these innocent individuals who were wronged, so they reach the justice that is very much needed and
