Capital punishment is practically barbarian. It does not suit the times society functions within. Although many states and countries have rid their legislature of such a notion, we must actively pursue the conformity of every government world-wide. The murder of murderers is not rehabilitation by any stretch. Convicts require aid, therapy, and understanding of circumstances. The facilitator of this act makes hypocritical decisions to save time and money. It is not a practical disincentive. There is no credible evidence that the death penalty deters crime more effectively than long terms of imprisonment.
