Also, if a victim lost his or her life to a horrific act the family will continue to grieve over there lost but they will have some type of closure that the offender was caught.[4] But is this considered being hypocritical? Some critics feel that capital punishment is being hypocritical.[4] Does it make it right that the justice system is committing the same act when a criminal is given the death penalty to the criminal for their wrong doing?[4] What is it teaching the criminal by giving them the death penalty? Just to think that prison is like hell on earth due to the matter prisoners are faced with being gang-raped, castrated, beaten to death, stabbed, and sometimes even beheaded before correctional officers whom may turn a blind eye to what’s going on in there.[4]
Capital punishment
Is capital punishment the best answer? If murders have the power to take a victim’s right to live away, then the criminal justice system should have the same power to correct the deficiency by taking the criminal’s life.[4] Human life has no price tag on it. Some critics whom are against capital punishment believe that life is so precious that even the worst criminal’s life should not be taken.[6] They also believe that the offender 's life should be spared regardless of his or her crime.[6] Without capital punishment, it could be debated that the justice system provisions are not valid in response to the crime of murder, and consequently seeks no justice for the victim or the victim’s family.[4] Is this punishment valid as a deterrent to criminal’s behavior?
