Cape Pond Ice Job Analysis

For the past two summers I have worked alongside the vice president of Cape Pond Ice. I was employed as his assistant and I made sure to take careful notice in everything he did on a day-to-day basis as I rode alongside him in the thirty-foot long box truck. For every interaction and every sale I made it clear that I wanted to know more and to be involved. This past spring I was called into the office for a meeting to discuss the upcoming summer. At the meeting we were told the vice president was leaving to obtain bigger and better opportunities. This was my chance to step up. I negotiated for a new position in the company. As a result, I was promoted to an account manager. With this position I was placed in control of every store and sale from Manchester by the Sea all the way down to Boston. I was very nervous at the start because I knew people wouldn’t take me seriously. I knew I had to earn respect from my co-workers and also the accounts that I was in charge of. My job contains many different aspects that I had to be in control of on a daily basis. I managed the retail and wholesale shop in Peabody. He told me that he was very happy with my work ethic and said that he expected me to keep growing as an employee. As the conversation was coming to an end he then said subtly that I should check my next check because I have received a raise. I had all of the confidence in the world at this point in the season but it was only June and the heat was just starting to pick up and as a result so was the business. As our company got busier I was sure to pay attention to the accounts we already had locked down rather than pick up more, unless they called us.
