Cape Heroes Research Paper

Improved Essays
While growing up, we all came to know the names Superman, Batman, Flash, Ironman, and various others. We see these heroes with supernatural abilities and capes, but not all heroes don them. A hero to me, is someone who helped when no one else would. If you look closely at society, you see the thieves, the abusers, and those who reach out for help but grasp only air. Look at what ‘heroes’ do, they save cities and, on occasion, the world; look at the people who stand up and help those who need it, the rescuers, the men and women who devote themselves to the Blue Line, and the ones who just stood by. When it comes to facts, the heroes with capes certainly don't exist;however, the ones who stand up and take action against the wrong do exist

When people think of the word hero they might picture a superhero or someone with huge muscles and fantastical superpowers. But a hero can also be kind and caring. They should put others before themselves and other peoples’ needs in front of their own. A true hero must be able to smile and be happy when others only see trouble and strife.…

A strong sense of justice is no longer a requirement to be a hero. What people now view as “justice” is no longer “in sync” with one another. So therefore, a hero, one who brings “justice,” no longer has to be tied down to such a strict definition. The current world no longer has a clear image of what is right and wrong, so can no longer have a clear image of what a hero is. In a world constantly growing more self-absorbed, a “hero” really depends on how one sees it.…

When someone says “hero”, I don’t think of the stereotypical superman hero that is commonly recognized and associated with the word. I think of a normal, average person who goes out of their way to help or save someone in need. I take my parents as an example. They are ordinary people who help me and care for me, even though they don’t have any “superpowers”. They are kind, brave, and honest; three qualities that someone heroic or respected must have to be the way they are.…
