One of the main reasons people visit Cape Cod is for fishing right in the Cape Cod canal. World class fishing os found all over the place. According to Jimmy Fee of On the Water, the fishing season is still going on. People are still catching stripers, even at this time of year. In the Canal you can catch many different kinds of fish including bass, tuna, bluefish, cod, and stripers (Ultimate Fishing Adventures 1). Cape Cod Web.com states that fishing in Cape Cod is good in spring, summer, and fall. There are a lot of people around the beaches on the blazing hot summer days but as soon as it hits dawn, people are out there fishing too. Some people even stay there all year long to experience very different types of fishing in each season. Fishing boats go out of harbors all day long with people packed to catch stripers in the summer or mackerel in the fall. On these boats, not only will you see packs of fish swimming around trying to get your bait but you will also see whales, sharks, and much more (Fishing Charters on Cape Cod 1). If you are just going for sightseeing, there are boats that go out of harbors for whale watching and you can take a nice ride around the seas. Fishing is just another reason to go to Cape Cod for a fun vacation

Port Arthur was established in 1830 as a timber station and a prison settlement for repeat offenders. While transportation to the island colony from the mainland ceased in 1853, the prison remained in operation until 1877, by which time some 12,000 men had passed through what was commonly regarded as the harshest institution of its kind in the British Empire. Punishments included incarceration in the Model Prison, a separate building from the main penitentiary, where inmates were subjected to sensory deprivation and extreme isolation in the belief that such methods promoted "moral reform". Between 1979 and 1986, a conservation project was undertaken to restore the prison ruins.…
