Abstract. Polyaniline (PANI) thin films were successfully synthesized from a mixed solution of 1M aniline and two different concentration solutions of H2SO4 on a stainless steel substrate. The capacitance properties of polyaniline (PANI) films, have been determined and examined in the selected media of two different concentrations of H2SO4 acid using cyclic volammetry technique. Cyclic voltammetric measurements have shown that PANI films grown by cycling the potential between -0.2V and 1 V in 1M H2SO4 and 2M H2SO4 on SS electrode. The electrochemical characterization of the electrode was carried out by means of cyclic voltammetry, convolutive voltammetry and derived chronoamperometry. The results show that polyaniline has a high specific capacitance of 702.1 F.g-1 and 810.5 F.g-1 at 10 mV s-1 in 1M H2SO4

Here, the concentration of the electroactive species is the same at differ-ent scan rates. If the peak current increases linearly with the scan rate, then it is reasonable to say that it is a diffusion-controlled (reversible) reaction. According to Fig. 2, the reaction is an irreversible redox reaction at the electrode electrolyte interface at low sweep rate. This irreversible nature of the electrode reduces the charge-transfer processes at the interface. We believe that this is a possible reason for the decrease in the supercapacitive properties with the scan

For analysis, the procedure to make 0.5 M CuSO4 solution from the solid was written out and discussed. Next, the percent transmittance that was recorded for the standard solutions were converted to absorbance. A plot was then made on excel of concentration values (x-axis) versus the absorbance values (y-axis). A line of best fit was included on the graph as well. After making the graph, absorbance was calculated from the percent transmittance of the made solutions.…

To start this laboratory experiment, we first collected all the materials necessary including multiple beakers, samples of each solution, metal strips, a salt bridge, alligator clips, and an abrasive sponge. Then 10 mL of CuSO4(aq) and 10 mL of ZnSO4(aq) were placed into separate 250 mL beakers. A copper strip was then placed in the beaker containing CuSO4(aq) and a zinc strip was placed into the beaker with ZnSO4(aq). The two beakers were connected by a salt bridge that consisted of a string soaked in 0.5 M KI solution and each end was placed into each solution.…

Chemical kinetics are governed by the mathematics of systems of differential equations (Thermodynamics and Kinetics). This means that the rate of any chemical reaction is determined by the type, and amount, of reactants present. Note the rate of a reaction is how fast it occurs. Furthermore, such rate equations can either be distinctively linear or non-linear when graphed.…

Through this experiment we measured how fast a chemical reaction occurs, by changing the degradation rate in Albumin when added to different enzymes. Albumin is a protein found in egg white, which is considered to have important storage and nutritional functions. Albumin has also been used in medicine to treat heavy metal intoxication. We ran Albumin through four different conditions to see which would make the Albumin degrade faster. We predicted that the Albumin would degrade with pepsin the fastest since it is essential for digestion of substances in the stomach.…
