Media controls the way a society thinks. It controls what people see or don’t see, what people know and don’t know about any and all topics. All of it depends on the media consumption and what the media decides to release. It can be twisted to fit anyone’s personal opinion or point of view and can make whoever reads it, think in a guided way. It creates ideas, opinions, presumptions and judgments. Media is such an important source of information that often times does not get looked into any further than the information it presents. Despite the flaws and misinformation that can be presented and taken blindly as fact.
In looking at horror movies, the monsters are astounding and the information can be twisted to fit the plot of the movie. This

It is a bad spirit that embodies or possess people and turns them into monsters after the act of cannibalism. Some stories happen after the acts of murder or greed, but the main ones are when a person many people eat human flesh and turn into something less than human. There is also a condition known as wendigo psychosis which is a syndrome where someone had a random and insatiable desire to consume human flesh or had an intense fear of becoming a cannibal ("Wendigo Psychosis", 2011). The Native Americans seem to focus on stories about cannibalism and the tragedies that ensue when people partake in the act. There is another story about a young girl who has a craving and begins to eat herself. It has human-like features because it once was a human but it is emaciated and abnormally tall with a pale complexion that shows its ravenous, eternal hunger. They are giant creatures, some stories putting it at fifteen feet tall. It’s agreed that the eyes glow and are generally sunken in like the rest of the creature and it has long yellow fangs and tongue. There are some discrepancies with the skin, some tribes say it has matted hair all over it while others say it is covered in decaying flesh (“Be Wary”, 2016).
Sometimes it is said to be coated in ice or made of ice and the human it once was is trapped inside the chest cavity where the heart of the creature would be. The human inside must be killed in order to kill the wendigo. Sometimes there are stories where the wendigo is converted back into a human but it is a rare thing to find (“Legendary”, 1998). This is why the creature is often associated with winter, cold and darkness.
