This book is a really good source of information, as it focuses on the components of the cannabis plant. The author goes into scientific detail of each component of the plant and how each affects the human body and its biological make-up. The cannabis plant is loaded with cannabinoids, 113 cannabinoids to be exact. Cannabinoids are different components of the cannabis plant, serving important roles in curing or treating many illnesses and diseases, effectively. The most popular of the cannabinoids is THC. THC is the reason for the “stigma against marijuana,” the “bad drug.” Fahl’s research gives specific details of what THC is made of. Because of this component of the cannabis plant, marijuana is listed under Schedule I of the Controlled Substance Act, which is governed by federal law. Fahl’s research leaves no stone unturned while he informs his readers of the specifications of drugs listed under Schedule I, the strictest schedule of the Controlled Substance Act. The drugs listed under Schedule I contain no medical use and are considered highly abused drugs. Marijuana is ranked as dangerous as drugs such as heroin, LSD, ecstasy, and meth. There is so much research confirming the positive medicinal effects of marijuana that some of the most respected officials of recent times are backing the legalization and the descheduling of marijuana.
