CAUSES

RISK FACTORS
Risk factors include:
• Gender. Women are more likely to get cancer sores than men.
• Family history of canker sores.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

DIAGNOSIS
Canker sores may be diagnosed by medical history and physical exam. If you have get canker sores frequently, you may also have:
• Blood tests.
• Allergy tests.
• Culture taken of the sore.
This tests can help your health care provider determine what is causing your canker sores.

TREATMENT
Treatment depends on the severity of your sores and how frequently you get them. Treatment may include:
• Numbing ointments. These can help relieve pain.
• Vitamins if your canker sores
