One of the most familiar and common animals to own as a pet and get along with….. the canine. Also known as the Canis Lupus Familiaris, is known to be kind, loving and gentle. But these animals recognized as a “mans best friend” have not always been this tame and diverse, living and existing in a humans world.In order to fully understand how canines came to be so diverse and friendly, the anatomy, background and habitat need to be identified. The anatomy of the dog is very basic. The canine skeleton is composed of the axial skeleton, the appendicular skeleton and parts of the visceral skeleton.
