What is canine mange? How do dogs get it? and what are the effects? Canine mange has been affecting dogs and dog owners everywhere. First you need to know what canine mange. According to Dr. Becker, “canine mange is a skin condition that is caused by several different species of parasitic mites. That embed themselves on your dog's skin or hair follicles.” A thing to know is that mites live naturally on dogs. Two common types of mites that can cause mange are Demodex canis that cause demodectic mange, which is also called red mange,follicular mange, and puppy mange. the reason they're called that is because its most common among young dogs.and sarcoptic mange are caused by sarcoptes scabiei. Well with demodectic mange, it will be itchy thanks to secondary bacterial and yeast infections.and sometimes there will be hair loss, bald spots, scabbing, and sores on the skin.also with demodectic mange, it has three types Localized, Generalized, and pododermatitis.
