Morse described environmental or natural capital as encompassing the area’s natural resources, including water, air, wildlife, and vegetation, as well as the management of parks, and trails (Morse, 2014). Based on the researcher’s observations, it is evident that the park located within CT 5 as well as the local Pathfinder Parkway trail which also runs through CT 5 is well maintained and preserved.
Local Politics
The researcher observed many vehicles on the road within CT 5 that displayed Republican Party bumper stickers or Trump/Pence stickers on the windows. The researcher also noticed a truck on the street that had Confederate flags mounted to the rails, as well as a confederate vanity plate. The researcher observed four Christian churches within CT 5, and the citizens in the parking lot of one church, in particular, appeared to be primarily White. While driving through the neighborhoods of CT 5, the researcher noticed signs planted in many individual lawns that stated: We support our local law enforcement.
