Candy Wraps and Raccoons

I never thought I would ever though these four phrase would relate with each other, but they did, and these four phrases are: boy scout, screaming, raccoons and candy wraps.

The night began one late, silent night, where I could hear nothing but an owl howling from the distance, and I was just about to end the day with a good night’s sleep. I step up into my elevated tent, moving the cover aside to step onto the wooden floor got in my sleeping bag, and laid the mosquito netting over me. I then fell down onto my cot and started to go to sleep, hearing nothing but quiet crickets and the occasional owl that hooted in the distance near another campsite. “Good night” I whispered silently to my tent mate Jesse, who was sleeping in a cot on the other side of the tent than me. “Good night.” he replied back. The twilight like sky then settled in, knowing that darkness would come to meet me in 20 minutes. After that, I attempted to fall asleep, and rest before the next morning was born.

While I was trying to fall into a deep rest, I heard a little girls scream, like they were being attacked. “HELP!” the little girl shouted. The sound seemed near a neighboring campsite, shattering the wall of silence that was originally throughout the campsite.

Truth is precarious thing. All too often we think of truth only as cold hard facts that are indisputable and undeniable. There must be evidence to support a claim in order for it to be accepted as truth. Whether it be in court before a jury, at home in front of family, or at work in front of other employees, evidence is required for something to be placed under the categories of factual, real, true, and legitimate. If evidence fails to exist when a claim is made then it is dismissed as a lie, as false, inaccurate, and deceitful.…

⦁ As I was reading this essay I couldn't help but become continually intrigued by the apparent, and somewhat subliminal illustrations the writer portrays throughout the story. For example, Passarello's influence related to "Harpy" strongly relies on herself, her lifestyle, but more importantly, her mother. She cites her mother's role in her college drama club play, The Crucible, providing insight and luring the reader into an oncoming paragraph of interesting rhetoric as she expels how her mother shrieked, nay, screamed at an imaginary demon-bird. What is this creature?…
