I approached the front of the building, stepping onto the first step of stairs leading to the entrance like a wedding dress's long tail. Upon opening the door, I can already hear the echoing of the noise the door was making along with my keys, and the slam of it seemed louder than usual. Looking to my right I see the pantry basket half full of donated food, and candles by a Virgin Mary statue. On my left side were the stairs to go to the lower level of the church. I took a deep breath before heading forward, and the only scent I could distinguish was that of burning candle wax. Candles were lit up by parishioners who had made a prayer requests. It took me 3 steps to get to the vestibules and bulletin boards that were full of announcements
