Candida Albicans commonly known as a yeast infection has affected many people in our community and throughout this paper I will be discussing the affects it has on our community. There are different ways Candida Albicans can be transmitted, but at the same time there are also many ways it can be treated. There are signs and symptoms that may vary depending on which area of the body is affected. It is important that we treat this infection to avoid further complications such as recurring infection, which may be a sign of something more serious or damage to the organs.

The effects are more concerning when we are dealing with those who are already sick and have compromised immune systems. There are more serious types, which we don 't commonly hear, that can affect the blood and send the person into septic shock. “In September, 2014, the FDA gave marketing approval for the T2Candida Panel and T2Dx instrument, the first direct blood test for detecting five Candida species that cause bloodstream infections.”( Hidalgo; Bronze, 2014 para. 1). I think that we need to educate our patients that may be susceptible to these types of yeast overgrowth. If we educate them on the signs and symptoms to watch out for, we can at least hope to be able to treat it in time before it has any damaging effects. White patches are a good indicator that it may be a yeast infection. Who knew the fungus, Candida Albicans, that lives on our bodies and in our mucus membranes can cause such havoc. In this paper we have discussed the negative effects that this fungus can cause.
