Cancer is becoming a second leading cause of death in our society. The expenses for diagnosis and treatment are overwhelming. People may deal with various challenges like; physical, social, emotional and spiritual. “Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells anywhere in a body” (What is cancer, 2014). “Cancer is associated with the alteration expression of cellular genes that normally regulate proliferation and differentiation” (Copstead & Banasik, 2013). Abnormal cells are called termed, malignant or tumor cell. Many abnormal cells that create cancer tissue are also known by name of the tissue that originates from, for example breast, colon, and lung etc. Absolute diagnosis for cancer needs positive cytological findings. There are various types of cancers. “Carcinoma starts in skin or tissues that line or cover internal organ. Sarcoma starts in bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, or other connective or supportive tissue. Leukemia starts in blood forming tissue like bone marrow and causes huge number of abnormal blood cells produced and enter the blood. Lymphoma and myeloma starts in cells of immune system. Central nervous system cancers start in the tissue of the brain and spinal cord”(what is cancer, 2014).
