One of the sources used is The Guardian’s Mental health of children and young people ‘at risk in digital age’. This article discusses how social media has developed to revolve around individuals’ lives, specifically adolescents. The article further discusses the increase of self-harm, stress, and mental health issues; factors discussed in the article that potentially leads to cyberbullying include “sexting,” violent video games, harassment, and threats of violence. I will merge this source in my essay through the relation between cyberbullying and mental health, including self-harm and how bullying has shifted from physical to cyberbullying.

Due to many websites, articles, and journals that appeared after searching, I was not able to find three different sources that were non-repetitive on the effects of cyberbullying on adolescents. What had made it more difficult was the inability to find sources that contained statistics within the same time period. Notwithstanding the difficulties, I decided to use the advanced searches in databases, such as Leddy Library, as well as conducting detailed searches through Google. Through the Leddy Library database advanced search, I searched for the word "cyberbullying" in all fields. Some keyword combination searches conducted were, “Cyberbullying AND adolescent AND (mental health OR health)” and “Cyberbullying AND mental health.” For Google, I searched using keywords in phrases in the search engine with quotation marks, such as, “‘Mental health’ caused by ‘cyberbullying’,” “‘Cyberbullying’ and ‘mental health’,” and “‘Statistics’ of ‘cyberbullying’ and ‘mental health’.” Through these methods, I found my three sources to continue on with my
