Can you really lose weight without exercise?
Yes.
But that doesn't mean you can live a sedentary lifestyle, and expect to live healthy. There are side effects to no or irregular physical activity. Do you know any couch potato with a healthy weight or has a flat tummy? If you do, then they are either lucky or they're not a couch potato in the very sense of the word.
You need to make lifestyle changes if you want to burn fat without going to the gym or following a workout regimen. These include changing your diet and moving more, but not necessarily a full-on exercise.
Why Movement Matters
Why is physical activity in any form important for losing weight? Because the perfect formula to weight loss is more calories burned than calories consumed.

It is the most effective way to burn calories, and speed up weight loss.
• Non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT) is where you can increase energy expenditure without hitting the gym. You won't even notice that you are burning calories, because you’re simply doing normal daily activities, such as pacing back and forth, tapping your feet, standing up, and scratching yourself. If you do more of these activities on a daily basis, or increase NEAT in general, you will lose weight without exercise.

Chapter 2 – How to Lose Weight through Increased Baseline Physical Activity

Since exercise is out of the question, your next best option is to be moderately active. Increase your baseline physical activity or NEAT in any way possible.
• Stand more often
• Use a standing desk
• Pace back and forth
• Park farther and walk to your building
• Use stairs instead of the elevator
In the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans that was issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, baseline activity is defined as the movements you do that are light in intensity, such as standing and walking. • Apples for breakfast can lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, but are bad for dinner because they increase stomach acid and are hard to digest at night.
• Yogurt for breakfast, especially on an empty stomach can damage the stomach lining. Eat it after dinner to promote faster digestion, and curb late-night snacking.
• Potatoes are rich in minerals and can lower cholesterol when eaten for breakfast. But because it is high in calories, avoid eating it for dinner to prevent weight gain.
• Tomatoes increase metabolism and improve digestion, which is why they are recommended for breakfast. The pectin and oxalic acid content, however, may cause stomach swelling when eaten for dinner.
• Rice should be eaten during lunch to gain energy and carbohydrates for the whole day. But eat it for dinner, and the only thing you will gain is weight.
• Meat helps reduce fatigue and should be eaten during lunch to help you get through the day. But avoid eating it for dinner, as it takes around four to six hours to digest, which could lead to damage to the digestive
