Have you ever wondered how life on earth started, and whether or not it can be explained? In the video, “Can Science Explain the Origin of Life” the narrator gives evidence as to how science can explain the origin of life. Throughout the video the narrator talked about the process of evolving, being born with traits that help living things survive in the environment, how all living things evolved from a common ancestor, and the concept of DNA. To convince the audience that science can explain the origin of life the narrator used cartooned animations, sound effects, and different font types, and colors. Starting with the title “Can Science Explain the Origin of Life” the narrator already addresses the audience this video would appeal to. This video is intended for those who are questioning the origin of life and would like to make sense of it. Also the channel this video is from is called Stated Clearly. This implies that the evidence the narrator is talking about is sound and can be explained “clearly”. The audience can view these images and understand what each term means by looking at the picture. A variety of colors are used in these images along with a plain background so that way the images would be the focal point of the scene. During the animation each picture glides up on to the screen, after the six pictures are up the animation swiftly changes to the next animation. The narrator did this in order to explain to the audience what all he is going to talk about in this video, but he didn’t want the audience to focus on the fancy terms.
