Can graffiti be considered art? No, graffiti cannot be considered art because it is a form of vandalism, can be seen as a threat, and the cleanup is expensive. Graffiti is a type of art that is shown in public areas by mostly teenagers as an expression. Graffiti can also be labeled as vandalism. Graffiti have kids and others scared to come around because they look at it as a threat. It’s a waste of time and money being invested into cleaning it up. Vandalizing properties with graffiti is very disrespectful. People spray paint signs changing the speed limits, which is very dangerous. Then on top of that the money come out of the pockets of the citizens. Graffiti can be used to represent gangs and bad words and other inappropriate things. It can also start violence between rivals because of colors and words. Not only do it make the walls and buildings look bad, …show more content…
So to see other people from better living lifestyles to see that make them feel a certain type of way. It may also persuade younger kids to be a part of whatever they see because of their peers. The things graffiti is used for painting may offend others by what is being shown. I personally think it would change if the age limit to buy spray paint would change. I say this because it usually be younger people who have common sense but just choose to do wrong who be the ones to do it. Graffiti should be used on canvas and make money if you want your work to be shown instead of on walls and in public for free. All your asking for is a ticket to jail or a huge vandalism ticket and community service for that. Another thing is when one child do it, it can get passed on to so many other kids. It's like they will be competing with each other just to see who graffiti will be the freshest around the city. Places like Baton Rouge , Memphis, and California is known for all the graffiti vandalism around the
