First of all, by using the violinist example, the author gave a good illustration of rape case. In this story, the woman, kidnapped and plugged to a violinist, who is currently in coma, is assumed to be an analogy of a woman who became pregnant by rape. Well, it seems to be a relevant remark, because in reality it is true. When you decide to give a birth to a child, you have to raise him, then when he becomes an adult, you will always worry about him and it will affect your health. Surely, there are also situations when pregnancy threatens the life of mother. In that case, again, the question of who has more right to life arises.
However, it may be seen that the violinist example is a weak analogy. For instance, it might be improper to compare a violinist, who is just a stranger, and your infant. Moreover, disconnecting the violinist from you kidneys is letting die and doing an abortion is killing, so these two are also presumed to be different.
