People often say, “You will know when a college feels right.” Until September 25th, I did not understand what that meant. When I first set foot on Tulane’s campus on Campus Preview Day, I understood. Although Tulane had already been my first choice school, my experiences on campus affirmed my hope to spend the next four years there.

On Tulane.edu, I came across the Tulane Center for Public Service and found various CACTUS programs that I hope to become part of. I intend to continue my philanthropic work at Tulane by volunteering at student organizations such as the Global Public Health Brigades, Best Buddies Tulane, Food for Thought and Action, Habitat for Humanity, and HATT. Throughout high school, I've worked with several nonprofit organizations, including TOPsoccer, Education Rocks, and Food for the Poor. I believe that my experiences with these programs would allow me to help The Center for Public Service with its mission to restore New Orleans.
Certainly, attending Tulane will be immeasurably helpful to me. But I believe that in return, I will be an asset to Tulane’s community and its surrounding city through my leadership and service experiences. I am strongly drawn to the special culture and character of New Orleans. I plan to volunteer much of my time in college to help make the city even better. I hope to be part of a school that focuses on the entire individual, appreciates me for who I am, and for who I am striving to become. My life's goal is to help make the world better for the poor, the hungry and the hurting. My heart and my mind tell me that spending the next four years at Tulane will guide me in that pursuit. It would mean everything to me to become part of the close-knit Tulane family. I would bleed green and white for the next four years (and beyond) if I were given the opportunity to do so. In turn, I hope that I can leave an impact on the future generations of students who attend
