I consider Camp Kanata a second home, I worked my first full summer as a camp counselor after junior year. That summer was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life; I learned, laughed, and cried everyday, I also created amazing friendships. Yet when asked about what made my summer so spectacular a few months later, I had little to say, my mind was blank. I cannot remember what happened a week ago, let alone what happened months and years ago. The number of special memories and moments I have forgotten about is unquantifiable.…
Volunteering at the NIH Clinical Center would be a unique and remarkably influential experience that would give me a great insight into the field I hope to pursue a career in. I want to be able to give back to my community through the field of health/medicine. By volunteering at the NIH Clinical Center, my knowledge on health and customer service will mature and I will be able to grow and learn from professionals. Through this opportunity, I would be able to gain an experience of a lifetime while fulfilling my desire to help patients as well as current NIH staff. The volunteering position seems like the perfect opportunity to combine service works with a chance to get involved in the medical field.…
I am interested in attending the Naval Academy Summer Seminar in the Summer of 2017, because I would like to be introduced to the rigors and challenges that all Midshipmen face while attending the United States Naval Academy. Although I have not received any STEM-related awards, being at the academy would afford me the opportunity to develop friendships with students from around the nation, develop teamwork skills and see what it would be like to push myself in physical and mental situations. Being accepted to attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar would be a great honor, and would create opportunities that would help me mature into a Midshipman, that will eventually lead me to develop into a naval officer. I have always wanted to join the…
What an amazing camp day! The weather was beautiful, the pizza was yummy, the kids went home sufficiently exhausted and you were amazing! We can’t thank you enough for your willingness to choose Camp Lifetimes to give your time and energy too. Whether you had a chance to shake your groove thing, take a silly picture or create a masterpiece, we hope you know that you mentored healthy, positive grieving alternatives to our participants. It was obvious they enjoyed their time with you and took home new, creative tools that will allow them to mourn with even greater intention.…
I want to be in the Leader's In Training program because Camp Mendocino is teaching youth how to live a healthy life at a young age. This camp helps the upcoming youth live in reality instead of the virtual world and ties into my overall life goal of helping Americans understand what it means to live a healthy life physically and mentally. This is important to me because I have dealt with depression and how unhappy I was with myself as a person. From the negative experience I’ve had with depression I don't want any child or teen feel like they are unworthy of the life they are living. By working with Camp Mendocino I will be helping the youth understand how to have a healthy state of mind by encouraging campers to deal with negative feelings…
On Wednesday, September 9, 2015 I attended the Purdue Student Nursing Association club callout. It took place in Smith Hall (the building where they sell meat) at 6:30 in room 108. The meeting was approximately an hour and half long, and club president Ali Johnson welcomed those in attendance with pizza and enthusiasm. She informed us of the purpose of the club and increased my excitement for Purdue’s nursing programs and the opportunities available. PSNA does various fundraising activities including the scrub and stethoscope sale.…
My ideal experience at College Code Camp would be developing connections with other girls and mentors because it is one of the most important aspects in success. Meeting with these women who have defied the odds will help inspire me to strive for greater success and help me stay strong through tough times. Although my experience in and passion for the world of ever changing technology dates back to my years in middle school, I know that I have so much more to learn in my years to come. My ideal Code Camp would help me build upon the foundation in engineering that I’ve already developed, and give me insight into new programming languages such as Ruby, Swift and Python, which will help further my career as I continue into college. By attending…
Prior to my experience in the Columbia University Summer Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP), I simply wanted to “help people”. This broad and shallow reason for my pursuit of a medical degree has since been redefined. My pursuit of a medical degree is greatly strengthened by the Columbia University Summer Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP). During the SPHSP the program exposed us to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and my eyes were opened to unique way help people.…
Furthermore, the Summer Bridge Program would give me an advantage over other students who's research abilities aren't as potent. This would give me a higher chance of being accepted to medical school if it is required…
I want to be a part of the NSF-REU program because I know I would make a great contribution. In an informal research project for my biology lab course, I led a team of four in a time-crunched, self-created lab. I took up the role of leadership, assigned tasks, organized meetings and worked outside of class hours to complete the testing. Taking charge wasn’t always easy for me but, at the College of Saint Benedict, there is a NSF S-STEM scholarship program called FoCuS. The program provides mentorship, leadership training and academic opportunities to students with a heavy interest in the sciences.…
As a junior at Tufts University earning a BS in Biomedical Engineering, I am eager to join the summer associate team at L.E.K. I am fascinated by the highly collaborative and non-hierarchical culture and PMC community contribution of L.E.K. Having engaged experiences including community work, internship, student organization, and research, I think L.E.K will be a great fit for me, because I enjoy interactions with people at all levels and explore my interests in all different areas. Joining the Tufts Financial Group (TFG) sparkle my passion in business. Our healthcare sector focuses on finding undervalued bio-tech and pharmaceutical companies to invest and I am leading the group in company overview and valuation for Regeneron Inc. I not…

Employing more diversification methods to clinical allocations to widen the students’ fields of experience. Throughout the school year, students in the accelerated program have the opportunity to experience and participate in different areas of care provision for many varying patients, in their clinical rotations. This usually leads to a rich experience coupled with a wide range of skills that go a long way to prepare them to be better and well skilled professionals. Together with the classes taken and actives they are engaged in, they acquire critical thinking skills, who are fast and efficient.…
