On November 12-13 of 2016 in Los Angeles, California, the 5th annual Camp Flog Gnaw carnival and music festival went underway. The event included tons of musical performances ranging from many different genres of music. Over the course of two days I saw many acts, but one that really stood out was a band called, The Internet. The Internet is a neo soul band comprising of 6 members, one lead vocalist, while the others play musical instruments like guitars, drums, keyboards, etc. As the sun set next to the USC Coliseum, the band took the stage with bright purple lights.
The Internet’s performance was well underway as I analyzed their stage presence. One thing I noticed was that the lead singer Syd Bennett, sounds very similar to the records

Although the band is known for the neo soul sound, with soft instruments and strong vocals, the whole crowd was into the act. You could not help, but tap your foot and sway your head. There was not much tension from song to song, since the songs are very mellow and chill, but during the last song the audience could get a sense of release. During the song, “Girl,” Syd Bennett held on extra long to some notes and you can feel the release of tension, and proudness of her gender. Many people from the audience applauded for her braveness of the ongoing issue in society. A real sense of connection was developed between the band and the audience as the performance went on. The audience was definitely satisfied after the performance, and is now awaiting for the next time and next album from the …show more content…
I am a huge hip hop fan, but I listen to many genres of music, which is why this festival was so amazing. The festival was so diverse and cultured in multiple aspects of music with: bands, djs, rappers, solo artists, etc. Getting to the venue was fun, I had to drive four hours to downtown Los Angeles, but listening to music made the time go by fast. The value of the festival was amazing, sure 200 dollars sounds expensive, but for two days of live music, I believe it was extremely worth it. I enjoyed the whole carnival, there were: games, rides, food, and famous musicians performing live, basically heaven for me. Celebrities were also just walking around meeting fans which gave the festival a very natural and accommodating

Attending this festival made me feel closer to home since I come from a town that the majority of the population are Mexican. While I was waiting for FAMA to perform it was heartbreaking that in the crowd a child got lost and it took a while for the parents to find him. I was surprised at the parents, because they saw how many people were there and some would still let their children be running around. Therefore, it was a pleasure to attend the Chicano Park Festival because it have insight on the significance of the…

Personal Narrative It took us about 3 hours to get to Shakopee, it was only 60 degrees, but with the thousands of people lined up, waiting to get in, it felt like 90. We stood in that line for two hours. For awhile, we talked, we met a variety of people, we laughed, we were excited. But once we got closer to the front of the line we all got quiet, this is it, we were in, we were all going to see our idols.…

The concert of the music from Appalachia was unique. I enjoyed it a lot for it not only was musically pretty, but there was substance and meaning to the words. These songs were stories of the struggles and triumphs of the people. During the concert, I felt the emotion and the presence of the people and afterwards I felt a sense of gratefulness for all that I have. I imagine the people from Appalachia contributing to the beauty and culture of their community as any other people of a community add to the beauty of theirs.…

With this concert, I was not too sure what expect seeing a vocalist, piano player and a clarinetist, but this has turned out to be my favorite concert thus far. I enjoyed how different it was from the other concerts with the music they played was more enjoyable, modern and upbeat. A positive aspect I took from this performance, was inviting and friendly the performers were. It is not everyday where they invite you to sit on stage while they do their performance because they want you to feel like you are a part of it. I really did find much negativity to this performance, besides the fact it was most sung in a different language and hard to follow, but helped me learn more of different types of music.…

For this live response I was able to go to the George fox jazz concert. I was surprised there was not more people there. The cool thing was there was on stage seating! Unforgettable with Stephanie Aaron and the Bradley Jazz Ensemble was a very unique experience. I do not attend many concerts, but the ones that I have gone to were nothing like this one. The concert was full of energy and the lighting was dynamic. I mostly went to traditional concerts, but this jazz concert was much more energetic. When musicians would finish a solo the crowd would applaud and there was a lot of movement among the ensemble.…

The people that attended the concert were very in tune with the music getting excited like the DJ jumping up and down and shouting. By the DJ getting excited about the music it made the attendees more excited about the music as well. Although the performance was very good for the genre of music because I am not a fan of this type of music I was not impressed. People that enjoy electronica music would have really enjoyed his performance but I most likely would not consider going to another concert like this concert.…

It's Friday night, I've worked all week. What better way to unwind or should I say treat myself, than to head over to Angel's Rock Bar in Baltimore, MD to check out hometown legends Silvertung on the first night of their headlining North American Tour " Hit The Pavement". Oh wait, did I say unwind? Well I meant to say wound up. But not before supporting act VIA took to the stage with their gritty vocals and down & dirty lyrics.…

The emotions expressed by not only the music but by how the musicians looked while playing these pieces made me believe that this show meant a lot to them because they would sway to the music when they weren’t playing. It had my emotions spiral out of control because some of the music was happy then it turned sad in an instance, then it would go right back to something whimsical. It’s not the typical kind of music that I would listen to daily but I am happy that I got to attend this event and hear something that I wouldn’t normally.…

The formation of dance has lived on this world for many generations as we continue to pass through history. When I went to the wonderful performance at Pierce College I experienced a whole new perspective on dancing. The concert had many types of students performing mixed dance projects of all types like solos and duets. There was an average size of one to eight dancers per project which made it the ideal size for the concert. I really enjoyed the creativity and effort put into this performance.…
