Camp Counselor Research Paper

As a camp counselor I am always brimming with energy and prepared to give children their best experience. I support campers by leading camp activities, inspiring campers’ positive choices, acting as a role model, and building a community among the campers. It’s a life-changing experience for both campers and counselors.
I have also participated in mentoring programs for childhood cancer patients. As a survivor, I understand the overwhelming and scary feelings experienced. When a developing young adult is diagnosed they often feel alone, relating to kids their age becomes difficult.
I meet with newly diagnosed teens to listen to or talk with during their hardship. I have provided compassion, support and guidance to ease them through their

On my one and only vacation last summer, I got the privilege on going to my first Younglife camp. The camp name was Carolina Point in Brevard, North Carolina. At the camp they had many activities: swimming, go-carting, disc golf, mountain biking, zip-lining, paddling boarding, and hiking. My favorite part about this trip was the day we took a whole camp trip to hike the nearby mountain. At the camp they had some kids with disabilities that couldn’t necessarily get up the mountain by themselves.…

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…
