Camp Bow Pow is a dog day care located in Boulder, Colorado. The business is owned and ran by Sue Ryan with the help of her general manager, Candace. The two perform all four functions of management which are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Sue is the franchise owner who has a long term idea of where she wants her business to go. At first, Sue was having trouble finding people that can be well rounded employees that can primarily take care of the dogs while performing functions such as answering phones, while being able to provide excellent customer service. Her strategy was to hire on staff that she could train and develop that can help in pursue of her overall vision. Candace has helped immensely with training the staff into an excellent team. Sue mentions that Candice is a key asset to the team in the respects of a team leader. Candice takes on the lead role in the respect that she wants to continue to coach and motivate her team to always go above and beyond. Sue and Candice also feel that it is important to show respect to their dedicated employees. Employee appreciation leads to quality customer service.

Efficiency is described as getting work down with a minimum of effort, expense, and waste. While Effectiveness is the act of accomplishing tasks that help an organization meet objectives such as customer service and satisfaction. The leaders at Camp Bow Wow demonstrate what efficiency should look like. Sue Ryan has said that if a customer has an issue, the team and herself want to do everything they possibly can to address it.
