The paper named “la Perichona” was a nickname given to Camila’s grandmother, who was a romantic and had many admirers and lovers. The reason this has a major signicance throughtout the film is because camila was influenced by her grandmother, who had exposed her to a diffrent way to view life, including the importance in romance and marriage. This in the end influnced Camila’s decisions and her actions.
6. Camila O'Gorman and Ladislao Gutiérrez had decided to flee together, because those around them would execute them for falling in love, since Ladislao was a priest.
