Friday, February 13, 2009. 1:05 a.m.: Mr. Jones couldn’t sleep. The streak of bright moonlight slashed on his blanket like a knife. He got up to close the curtains when he heard a sickening squawk downstairs.…
“Woah! There’s a lot. Maybe we should follow them? We should follow them because it could lead us to a clue,” responded Helen. Reggie nodded in agreement and they all followed the cockroaches together fearfully to an eerie, mysterious, dark forest.…
It's evening time in a small neighborhood of Kyoto, Japan... Life feels empty and hull during this period of dusk... Some find it to be refreshing and artistic, others have found it to only worsen situations... During this time we find a young teen named Yuutsu, a mute brimming with despair.…
Cruisers are an eclectic lot. We're a strange mix of business owners, plumbers, homemakers, Vietnam vets, academics, nurses, computer geeks... and the list goes on. What's magical about our chemistry is the fusion of random knowledge, binding us together like a single central nervous system. In addition, we've got grit. And, we needed it all when the strongest cyclone to ever make landfall in the southern hemisphere headed towards Fiji.…
1. The wife of Young Goodman Brown is named “Faith” for a reason. It gives the reader a clue that Faith was named to represent the faith of Young Goodman Brown; such as the faith in this own life or the faith in god. For example when it states “Come, Goodman Brown, cried his fellow-traveler; this is a dull pace for the beginning of the journey. Take my staff, if you are soon weary” and “We are but a little way in the forest yet.”…
This is the difficult part for Ocelot. Not the fingering Kaz, but ignoring that his dick is hard as hell and his body is yelling to fuck him, to ravage him and to make him see stars, no, scratch that, to see goddamn galaxies. He's so beautiful like this, brain vs. body, brain fighting to keep his dignity and not respond and to be stronger than this, but his body, oh, his body is winning the battle, hand gripping the sheets and a bead of blood on his lip from how hard he's biting, eyes lidded but still fighting to stay open "How's this, Miller?" Ocelot says, trying for oblivious but coming out huskier than intended, lust tinting his vision and distorting his thoughts, the blood in his head roaring. "It's-oh God-…
Context- In this quote Hawthorne has explained the issue that Hester is having, Hawthorne then takes a break from the story line of Hester and describes how Pearl (Hesters child) is developing in the world that has been filled with evil ,deception and judgement. The importance of this quote is that it described how pearl acted and how she acted alone, versus how she acted with other children her age and how her attitudes and misbehavior are a symbol of the misbehavior of Hester and the town. The author is intending on progressing how she is a symbol of the sins of this adultery. The author is tells us this quote to move the plot of the story from a child who has temper issues to a child who is peculiar just as how the towns overall behavior…
1) I liked how she starts her story with the emotional moment of the accident, that part made me feel dizzy and disorientated like her, at the beginning it was kind of hard to interpreted the text and what was happening at the time. The parts were the police were treating her like an animal really made me mad and I felt a little bit of impotence when hearing about how they waited so long to help her and they hurt her even more. I was actually disgusted but not surprised of the way the police treated her in the hospital, it was to be expected, besides she “killed” one of their own and on top of it she was a woman of color. I admire Assata greatly in this chapter, she is so brave and has a strong will of power, if I were in her place I would have cried and begged since the first punch to the stomach. I can connect the way they treated Assata during…
1.The points where I started to noticed foreshshadowing of the ending, was in section 3 where Emily goes to drug store to buy arsenic. There was no information on how Emily was going to use that poison. The story did prepare me for something different then I was expecting. I would of thought Emily would of used the poison on herself, to end her life after she had lost her father. She used it on Homer 2.…
Prologue The stench of the trash was absolutely nauseating. Even though my brain was screaming at me to get rid of the repulsive gunk on my shirt, my legs couldn’t stop running. Winston was just a limp ball of fur in my shaking arms. I had to hold on to him, otherwise I would be lost in this cold world of darkness that was embedding itself with steel claws into my heart.…
In regards to aspects of life, it is mention in Vallejo’s poem often. However, other individuals had question the reasoning for life. Many had question the aspects of life, and the difficulties of life. They question why is life this way, why is life not peaceful, why is life filled with hatred, why does life have more negativity than positivity, etc. In fact, Vallejo was disturbed by questions concerning the reason for life.…
Coming into college I knew I was going to meet new and different people compared to me. Dialectical tension occurs in every relationship. My roommate and I get along, but bringing friends to our room can be very embarrassing. The guy just does not know how keep his side tidy enough to at least be presentable. He has clothes scattered everywhere, food on his desk that would remind you of a garbage can, and his floor looks like somebody painted a picture on it, then messed up so the artist just ruined the picture by scribbling nonsense.…
Scarlet Letter Journal Analysis Journal #2: In the novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the scarlet letter negatively affects Hester because it excludes her from society, labels her as the embodiment of sin in the town, and grants her a lot of disrespect among the people. Hester lived in a cottage that was far away from the whole town and completely surrounded by woods, which already made her feel separate from the community. Not only that, but every time she went to the busy Boston area, her contact with society made her feel “banished, and as much alone as if she inhabited another sphere” (Hawthorne 78). Hester is obviously suffering from isolation already, due to her sin and the scarlet letter setting her apart from everyone…

Pettle Village is a small village that is located at the border of Tumbrea Kingdom, the village only has around 100 people in it, in such a small community, everyone knew eachother and were quite good friends with one another, people were working the fields, taking care of the animals, and every now and then, a trader would pass by the village so that the villagers could trade some of their goods for a bit of copper coins. Outside of Pettle Village, there was a tall wooden fence, used to defend against monsters and bandits, the fence wouldn't be very useful against either of them, but it could slow them down a bit at least, to give the villagers at least a little bit of a better chance at running if they were attacked. Inside of Pettle Village,…
