Calvin Coolidge has always been a man that I have looked up to, and this appreciation of him mostly came from his ability to take charge in a disaster. Coolidge also favored the people of the United States being able to do as they please with the money that they earned in a moral sense, and he also encouraged participation in the League of Nations. All of these values lead one to believe that Coolidge was a peaceful president that wished for everyone to live their lives as they pleased if the country was still running smoothly. Within my schooling and my plans for the future, I believe that trying one’s hardest towards achieving the set goal is the best way to succeed in any part of life. At the beginning of his presidency, Coolidge believed in never doing anything that someone else could do for him, and this motive lead to his presidency to be an extremely effective one. He also took upon all of his duties as a president in a respectful manner and always attempted to take part in as many of necessary activities as possible. Being active in one’s chosen profession is a major step in reaching a set goal in life. Although Coolidge thoroughly enjoyed his time as the president of the United States, he knew that the country could benefit best from a new public figure leading the population. This choice shows a large amount of humility. Coolidge knew that he could be elected easily, but he chose to not succeed himself. Knowing what is best for himself and the country is a lovely knowledge to have. Knowing when one’s work is done with the goal that was aimed for is an important feature to possess. Coolidge held all of the most important qualities in order to successfully lead America for the four years in which he did, and I hope to also hold of these qualities with my future
