Calpurnia is a better mother figure than Aunt Alexandra. Calpurnia is a better mother figure for the kids because she takes care of the kids. Earlier in the novel, Walter Cunningham Jr comes to have diner with the Finch’s. Walter dumps Syrup on what he ate and Scout makes fun of him. Calpurnia calls her to the kitchen and teaches her not to be mean to company. Also Calpurnia is much more open minded than Calpurnia. She does not care about the family history she cares more about putting the kids before herself.On the other hand Alexandra is not a good mother figure.
